Feedback

Community partners highlighted three key themes: Access, Collaboration, and Training. They emphasized the importance of continuing to inform families about how to engage with schools and access resources both within and beyond the school system. Partners also stressed the need for stronger collaboration—between schools, families, and among community organizations themselves. Additionally, they expressed the need for staff training to better address students' complex needs and ensure families are connected to appropriate external supports. Overall, there was strong enthusiasm for deeper partnerships with community schools.

Priorities and Opportunities

Rigorous, Community-Connected Classroom Instruction and Expanded, Enriched Learning Opportunities

According to the county data for student surveys, many of our students scored our school favorable in the academic section. 80-90% of students feel challenged, feel they have high expectations, and are able to manage their school work.

We continue to focus on ensuring that our students are college and career ready.  we We will provide a strong academic program as well as enrichment opportunities in STEAM, art, music and theater.

Collaborative Leadership, Shared Power, and Voice

The Communication and Engagement section of the FCPS survey had a 91% favorability. The answer with the least favorability was at 82% in which families said they didn’t feel well informed of what was going on at school.

Clear, consistent, timely  communication continues to be a focus at the school.  We are evaluating our  various ways to communicate including text messages, the website, newsletters etc.  We look to increase the number of families and community members that we have on our family advisory committee.

Integrated Systems of Support

Our FCPS survey shows that students gave the school somewhat favorable responses to having opportunities to participate in other activities and having support from adults. Both had roughly 90% favorability.

There is a continued focus on ensuring every child attends school consistently.  Access to outside resources will be available and communicated on an on-going basis.  Expanded programming to provide safe and accessible enrichment opportunities will also be a focus.

Culture of Belonging, Safety, and Care

The FCPS surveys scored BRES very favorably in the school culture section.  There is a continued focus on special events that can build a sense of belonging and culture for students and families.
